Bugsnax was weird from the moment we first encountered its obscure world of fruit and walruses eating bugs, or whatever the hell is happening in that very, very strange ecosystem. You’ll be glad to know that the most recent Bugsnax gameplay confirms that the world has got even more obscure. You can check it out for yourself below. As you can see, the most recent Bugsnax gameplay trailer informs us of our status as a journalist tasked with finding someone’s favourite bug snack in order to feed it to them. Incredibly important reporting assignment, if you ask me. Is it a bug eating a snack or a snack eating a bug? Is the walrus still here? What’s going on? According to the new trailer, you can also use a variety of unique traps, including some kind of grenade launcher grappling hook thingamajig. Naturally, you’re also allowed to demolish innocent bug snacks with a lovely little slingshot. This game is absurd. Bugsnax was revealed alongside lots of other new games during the PS5 event from earlier this year. Check out the rest of the games at the link. The Bugsnax gameplay was just one of many things shown during today’s State of Play, though. On top of that, we got our first look at Godfall combat gameplay, while iconic platformer Braid was announced for PS4. We also got our first look at Hitman 3 in VR, which is due to come out in January 2021, as well as news of a Temtem PS5 port. Let’s not forget that the show kicked off with some brand new Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time gameplay - in which you can apparently play as Dingodile.
