It seems that players that already own FIFA 21 on Xbox One or PS4 can already download a patch that allows them to upgrade their game to the proper next-gen version of the game today, December 3 (thanks, Eurogamer). The actual, retail version of the PS5 and Xbox Series X version of the game goes on-sale on December 4, but it seems EA Sports is rewarding early adopters by giving them the next-gen version a day earlier than advertised. If you own the game on previous-gen machines, you need to log into your PS5 or Xbox Series X/S with the same account you purchased the last-gen version of the title with. Then head to your game library, and you should get the option to install (or buy, on PlayStation) the next-gen version of the game. Note that ‘Buy’ is something of a misnomer; it’ll actually be free once you click through. Eurogamer reports that the PlayStation 5 version of FIFA 21 comes in at roughly 50GB, and our own investigation shows that the Xbox Series X version comes in at 35GB.
